If you've never made felt before you'd probably struggle to even imagine how it's made. Where would you start? Lisa Slinn's delightful little book is so well written and illustrated that it makes this seemingly difficult process extremely simple.
As with all of the howcraft books, this book takes you step-by-step through the felt making process, illustrating each step with a full colour photo. She starts with a bit of background on Merino wool, a list of the equipment you'll need (it's minimal) and then she takes you through the process step-by-step: laying out your wool, creating the pattern, the pre-felting process, the felting process, washing, drying and making up the bag.

Lisa Slinn was born in Birmingham, England, and educated at Birmingham University. Since 2004/5, when she studied ceramics and textiles at the Midland Arts Centre, she has been making felt by hand. She has had her work exhibited at Bilston Craft Gallery in the West Midlands, and at local designer maker events. She draws her inspiration from fashion and innovative product design, and her love of colour is evident in her work.
